More NESCAFs kitted at Lobstercon

Another set of NEScaf kits was made ready to ship on Friday at Lobstercon. This kitting incorporates the MF100, a drop-in replacement for -- and an improvement on -- the MF10. Because this NEScaf run also follows postal rate hikes, you will find a small increase in the cost of the kit, which remains an excellent value.

MF100 chips for existing NEScafs

I don't believe the club has purchased any extra MF100s (yet). When the time comes to order more, to populate more kits, I will suggest looking into increasing the amount to make this possible.
We buy them from Digikey. Their part number is LMF100CCN-ND, and they sell for just over $6.00 each in single quantities. When you add what it would cost us to mail one to you, etc, we probably won't be able to sell them for much less. But, I will look into the possibility, and let you know.

They may or may not be willing to send you a sample, its up to them. the "+" designation at the end of the part number, for Maxim, means lead free. the BN version is a DIP (dual inline pin vs surface mount type).to request a sample try using this link: http://www.maxim-ic.com/parts.cfm?p=MF10
