Antenna Advice

As you know I am just getting back into QRP again so I have yet one more question .

What would you suggest for a decent antenna for QRP when I am camping? In a lot of places that I go, there are very few trees for a dipole so I am looking into a vertical. I can't use anything to big because the campground lots are not that big for a 20 or 30 foot antenna.

What are some good choices out there for a small vertical. I realize that as you get smaller you loose a lot out of the antenna but this is something that I will have to live with. So what are the most efficient verticals out there for the size of them? I don't have any experience with small vertical antennas.

RE Antenna Advice

IMHO I would look into the Buddipole / Buddistick.
I purchased one my self and I find the quality and workmanship to be excellent. I can also vouch for the customer service that Budd and his son provide. Check them
out on the web and also look at the Buddipole group on Yahoo. I think you will be very satisfied.

Small Vertical Antenna performance

A good place to compare small antenna performance is the HF Pack website. Here is a link to the Vertical Antenna Shootout from 2002. It shows actual measured comparisons among several different antenna types.

There are also links to other pages of interest from there.

Antenna advice

Just to let you know that I decided to go with the MP-1 Long!
If all the reviews and test are true, I don't think you buy anything any better. Not to mention that Vern is a very nice guy and great to deal with. He also has a mountain of experience and advice.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Super Antenna Dipole

I'll be using a SUPER ANTENNA on FD and give a report of performance. It's construction is outstanding. I bought the all band dipole version with 80meter coils. If it works as good as it looks, watch out for some QSL's!!
