Buddipole

Does anybody use a buddipole what do you think of it how does it perform tips and tricks the buddipole looks very pretty and compact, and sometimes I say to myself stuff the home made wires such a big hassle firing 65 foot of wire up a tree when I am on the beaten track, don't get me wrong the end fed wire with the counterpoise works very well for me

I own two full Buddipole systems and one Buddistick system. These products are well constructed, rugged, easily assembled, lightweight, and flexible. The best thing to do if you are interested in this product is to join the Yahoo! group that supports it. There are over 3000 members and it is a very, very active discussion.

One note: this can be a full-sized antenna on 6m-15m, and a nearly full-sized unit on 17m and 20m. Obviously, it will never outperform a three element yagi at 70 feet. But, it is much easier to get in the air than a yagi at 70 feet! If you understand what the physics dictate for the performance of this design and you would be happy with those numbers, I believe you will be happy with the construction quality and materials of the antenna and, ultimately, be happy with the purchase.

If you have any other questions, please let me know. 73!

Buddipole

Thanks for the info scott, registered on the yahoo site checked out the buddipole system I was quite surprised how many are about in auz, interesting section on performance between the buddipole and buddistick,I suppose the good thing it's easy up and compact I usually carry a shangeye(catapult) which is illegal to have to launch into the trees and where I go a lot is a place called brooms head eastern australia which has over 100 feet high norfolk pines not native to the area , but go back to the first world war each was planted by the family who lost loved ones at gallipoli 1915,yes I reckon they are a good unit worth a try.
