missing pot
I finally unpacked my NEScaf kit and checked the contents against the list of components. I have several extra components and I am missing one of the 10k panel-mounted pots with center detent. Can I obtain a replacement pot from NEQRP or can I get a Mouser or Digi-Key number?
I have in excess 7 resistors, one of the on-board 10k pots, and a capacitor. I'd be happy to trade these for the panel-mounted pot!

wiring question
I'm almost finished with my NESCaf. I have the pcb populated and I am about to connect R7. When I am asked to use the tab on the right of the center tab, while looking at the front of the pot, are the tabs up or down? With R10, I was able to figure out which tab to use, because turning the pot clock-wise had to decrease the resistance.
I know this is a dumb question. Obviously, more experienced builders have no problem with the instructions, but I would hate to ask this question later when the unit doesn't work!
Thanks and 73, Dave K1YHR.
Wiring the bandwidth pot
Actually, Dave- the filter will work either way- as long as you wire both sections of the pot the same way. I agree that this portion of the instructions should be clearer.
The fact is this: the filter bandwidth will be tightest when this pot is set to minimum resistance.
So, If you wire the R7 dual gang pot such that the resistance decreases with clockwise rotation, then clockwise rotation will tighten the filter. If you use the other 'end' of each section of the pot, the action will be reversed. It all depends on your preference- Do you want the filter to get narrower, or wider with clockwise rotation of the control? It's entirely up to you.
Hope this helps.

wiring bandwidth pot - thanks
Thank you, Bruce. That's the second time you've promptly helped me! Your explanation is clear and I think I would prefer for the bandwidth to tighten when the pot is rotated clock-wise.
I have a nice Whitman's Sampler tin ready to go, although the XYL got to the chocolate first. I'll let you know how it works out.

Broken Pot
I finally put my kit together but when I opened the parts bag I found that the 10K pot with center detent was broken. The terminals had snapped off. I have never seen that before. Where can I get a replacement?
I did finish the kit replacing the pot with a 4.7k resistor and it works very well.
This will really help my direct conversion DC-40 receiver. Nice job folks, thank you.
If you reply to me directly
If you reply to me directly at N1RX at ARRL DOT NET with your mailing address, I will send you a replacement pot.

NEScaf Missing 10K Board Mounted Pot
Bought one of the first round kits and am now building it. I only have one of the blue board mounted pots; where could I get another?
2nd question: is the second run of filter kits sold out yet?

RE: Missing part
I have forwarded your request on to Dave, NT1U. I am sure he can send you another. You should hear back shortly.
